CIRCLE TRACK
XPLEX features the nation's only self-contained 5/8,
1/4 and 1/5 mile oval dirt track. Designed to share the same 900 foot long
straightaway, our track is sure to bring a new found excitement to oval track
racing.
There will be several divisions of oval track racing vehicles scheduled to
appear at the XPLEX. Here's a brief overview of the vehicles:
USAC: United States Auto Club. USAC sanctions a series of national
racing divisions. Included are the Silver Crown division, Sprint car division,
National midget division, Ford Focus midget division and Quarter Midget division.
These divisions will be able to appear on each of the tracks at XPLEX including
the 5/8, 1/4 and 1/5 mile oval dirt tracks. All of these divisions are open wheel,
open cockpit, single seat, front engine, purpose-built racing cars of varying
degrees of horsepower up to 850 HP.
Midwest Sprint Car Series (MSCS): A non wing sprint car organization racing
primarily in the Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky area. Many up and coming stars of
sprint car racing begin their careers with the MSCS. Similiar in design to the
USAC sprint cars, the MSCS is really gaining momentum throughout the midwest.
UMP: A series of highly modified open wheel/stock car divisions. Primarily
run on 1/4 to 1/2 mile dirt ovals.
Late Model stock cars: High horsepower, high speed, very modified stock cars,
reaching speeds comparable to the sprint cars.
Street stocks/hobby stocks/factory stocks: Entry level stock car divisions.
Primarily local racers take part in these cars.
Midgets/Mini sprints/TQ midgets/Quarter midgets: Entry level open wheel
divisions. Drivers in these divisions usually have visions of moving up to sprints
and silver crown cars and beyond.
Contained inside of the 1/4 oval will be a 1/5 mile oval, again sharing the same
900 foot straightaway. This oval will also be part of the weekly program in
conjunction with the 1/4 oval.
The track and grandstands will be the hallmark of all short tracks in America.
It will be the benchmark of which all future short tracks will look to as an
example of what to build. State of the art sound system, lighting, grandstands
and amenities will be standard at this facility.
